Who can join the CAWJ?

The CAWJ is open to all persons who hold judicial posts, both male and female, and also to those who have retired from a permanent or salaried judicial post. The CAWJ will warmly welcome all judges, magistrates, masters, court administrators, registrars, and any person appointed or serving in a judicial or adjudicatory capacity, including members of tribunals, boards and commissions.

CAWJ members also benefit from

International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ) benefits such as scholarship offers.

Ordinary Member

Any person who holds or has retired from a permanent or salaried judicial office is eligible to be
a full voting member and hold office.

Honorary member

Upon nomination by the officers, any person may be elected to honorary membership in
recognition of outstanding service fulfilling any of the Association’s objectives. Honorary
members shall have no voting rights and may not hold office.

The annual membership fees of the Association are as follows:

  • US $25 for persons who are members of a regional Association (TTAWJ, JAWJ, GAWJ, ECAWJ)

  • US $75 which includes IAWJ annual membership fee

For annual renewals or new registrants, the fees are the same.
